Hastings is where Kool-Aid was invented. This small city of 25,000 has several beautiful parks with lakes and streams. Hastings Lake is wonderful to take walk on wide paved walks or to take up frisby golf on its exciting course. There are 5 golf courses in the immediate area. At Hastings College one can enjoy concerts and guest lectures on a variety of topics. Gourmet food can be enjoyed at a fraction of five star restaurants at the Community College where it is prepared by aspiring chefs. The city hosts several festivals throughout the year including Kool-Aid Days, the Cottonwood Art Festival, and several rodeos. Hastings is a small town with lots of action. For big city entertainment, Hastings is only 90 minutes from Lincoln.
